M308L, INTEGRAL CALCULUS
M308M,
MULTIVARlABLE CALCULUS
Prerequisite and degree
relevance:
M308L, 308M is a two-course treatment of the last two-thirds of a three-course
sequence
essentially equivalent to M408C and M408D; the first third, 308K, is available for transfer
credit
but is no longer taught. The courses are taught by a regular faculty member meeting
classes three hours per
week. The prerequisite for M308L is a grade of at least C in M308K
or an equivalent course; the prerequisite
for M308M is a grade of at least C in M308L or an
equivalent course. 308L may not be counted by students
with credit for Mathematics 403K, or
408C. 308M may not be counted by students with credit for Mathematics
403L, or 408D.
Course Description:
M308L includes discussions of
transcendental functions, techniques of integration, and
applications of the integral. M308M provides a
discussion of infinite series, and an
introduction to vectors and to topics in vector calculus, such as
parametric equations,
partial differentiation, line integrals, and multiple
integrals.
