    I don't have a double precision version of NSPCG, but many
  compilers have a flag for automatically promoting reals
  to doubles, e.g.,
 
    SGI:  -r8
    DEC:  -r8
    Cray: compile as single precision
    IBM:  -qautodbl=dblpad
 
  I'm not sure about PC compilers.
 
   If you need an explicit double precision version, the utility
   from NETLIB (www.netlib.org) called "s2d.shar" from the
   "fortran" directory may be useful.  

   I used the above utility from Netlib (s2d.shar from the
   "fortran" directory) to create a dp version of NSPCG.  The
   tar file is attached below.

   gunzip nspcg.tar.gz
   tar xvf nspcg.tar

   This will create a directory called NSPCG with two
   subdirectories "sp" and "dp".  The "sp" directory
   contains the original single precision version.  The "dp"
   directory contains the new double precision version.
   You will need to adjust the Makefiles in the top-level
   and SRC directories under "sp" and "dp" to select the
   appropriate platforms and compiler options.  You may
   have to adjust SRC/timer.f to select the right timer.

   The double precision version seems to work OK on the
   five test problems for the platforms given at the top
   of the Makefiles, but that is all the testing I have
   done.  The dp version was generated automatically using 
   the s2d software, so no guarantees can be made.

   I still think finding a compiler flag to automatically
   promote reals to doubles is the best way, if the compiler
   has such an option.
